awesomeness -UPDATED-

ok now this is going to be a change from my usual depressing perspective rants and questioning. this time this post is the top 5 albums to be released this year so far.
I will update this again if another album comes out that knocks one of these 5 out but i highly doubt it will anyways, enjoy

kings of leon - only by the night
this album is fucking brilliant, a much better follow up to Because of the times, with other bands in the world just picking up a guitar for fun these guys pick up a guitar to rock the fuck out. there are no let down tracks on this album so give it a listen especially track 2, crawl which in my opinion is the best track on the album.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Dig Lazarus Dig
these boys just keep releasing musical genius after last year releasing an album under the alterego name of grinderman(which was also fucking intense) theyve busted out this classic which picked up 4or5 aria nominations for it and honestly in this day and age a nomination and not winning is better than the award itself, only rarely do the actual deserving artists win. Nick cave himself has been in the industry for longer than I've been alive actually nick cave and the bad seeds have aswell, starting in 1984 theyve busted out music genius for us all to listen to and be elated by. this is a must listen for anyone who loves gritty rock

birds of Tokyo - universes
the musical genius that is Ian Kenny just keeps expanding through both outlets karnivool and of course birds of tokyo these songs are all pure genius and i cannot wait to be cranking these all summer long specially broken bones.

im not putting the album covers up for the last two

Cog - Sharing space
And yet another example of pure Australian musical genius, seriously this band is in their own league both live and recorded, its progressive its hard its heavy and its alot more blatantly political then the new normal or anything from their ep's i highly recommend that you whack this one in the cd player and dont take it out for a long time

-EDIT- alright originally black keys had a position in the top 5 but i bought a few more cd's yesterday and has now been edged out
Eddy Current Suppression Ring - Primary Colours
More Australian genius here, these boys sound like rolling stones crossed with early kings of leon its fucking gold. You should definitely check the tracks which way to go and Sundays Coming and get the cd cranking, I so cannot wait to see these lads at big day out

anyways let us know what you think, if you want you can let me know what ive got right and where ive gone wrong but please nothing to much about metallica's new album

peace out
